Cúla Búla

Cúla Búla are a Galway based group that have been tearing up stages across Ireland and the UK for the last year and a half. Starting in the late summer of 2014, they hastily put together a set of lively tunes to fill a slot at a local festival. They won the crowd over immediately and it was clear from then on that it was meant to be.. Already the band has sailed across the drink accomplishing a rag and bone tour of England, self funded and self organised, hitting up hot spots such as Bristol, Manchester, London, Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich. The band made a big impact on the unsuspecting nation.
Cula Bula have already played in most of Irelands most prestigious venues including, Whelans (Dublin), Sweeney’s (Dublin), The Pav (Cork), Dolans (Limerick), Monroes (Galway) and The Voodoo Lounge (Belfast) to name but a few.. As for the music, Cula Bula are rather difficult to be tamed and put into boxes. With the release of their debut album ‘Is It?’, it is possible to hear this for yourself. Cula Bula have pushed a traditional Irish sound into a rock/funk/psychedelic groove performed with a high-energy, punky, aggressive attitude. It has been said that they have “ somewhat re-jigged a genre to suit themselves.” I guess it is for you to decide.. So whether dancing is you’re thing, music is your thing or simply having the craic is your thing.. This band has it covered.
